HEALTH

  • AMC Hospice (Camp Dragonfly)
    $2,400 | Grief camp for children 6-18. Funding used for arts and crafts items and the memorial bonfire.
  • AMC Hospice (Shenandoah House)
    $2,500 | A program that offers access to Shenandoah House to those unable to pay.
  • Augusta Regional Dental Clinic
    $10,000 | Preventative and restorative treatment for 600 children of low-income families in the clinic and at area schools.
  • Boys and Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County
    $5,000 | Support the SMART Program which ensures that young females (8-18) develop and enhance skills necessary for a healthy lifestyle.
  • Valley Hope Counseling Center
    $7,000 | Provide low-fee family counseling service to low-income,  uninsured local families.
  • Waynesboro YMCA
    $6,600 | IGNITE: (Interactive games, nutrition, and inspiration through education) is a program designed to combat childhood inactivity and obesity.

HUMAN SERVICES

  • Blue Ridge Legal Services
    $7,500 | Provide free legal assistance to low-income elderly.
  • Casa D'Amistad
    $5,000 | Provide an after-school tutorial program, (K-12), an adult ESL program. Emergency expense assistance and school supplies.
  • Community Childcare Center
    $5,000 | Provide scholarships to low-income families who do not qualify for DSS assistance.
  • Family Resource and Referral Center
    $5,000 | A parenting program for families with children ages 0-3 aimed at helping parents and preventing child abuse and neglect.
  • Valley AIDS Network
    $4,500 | Provide emergency rental, utility, and heating assistance to area individuals with HIV/AIDS.
    Valley Program for Aging Services
  • $3,000 | A program to encourage older adults to realize the benefits of consistent mental exercise combined with physical activity and good nutrition.

CULTURAL LIFE & THE ARTS

  • Schola Cantorum
    $2,000 | A joint concert of Schola Cantorum and the Waynesboro High School Concert Choir.
  • Staunton Music Festival
    $5,000 | Sponsor free noon-concert series, featuring acclaimed classical musicians.
  • Valley Symphonic Concerts
    $2,000 | Program presents musical education to students during school hours by bringing professional musicians directly into the schools.
  • Wayne Theatre Alliance
    $2,000 | A monthly live entertainment for children and their families to expose as many kids as possible to live performing arts

FOOD & SHELTER

  • Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
    $8,000 | Kids Café - Nutritious after schools snacks and meals to at-risk children at school.
  • Habitat for Humanity (SAW)
    $2,000 | A year-long home owner education program for new owners.
  • Nelson County Pantry
    $2,500 | Monthly and emergency food distribution to needy residents of Nelson County.
  • Rebuilding Together
    $7,500 | Fund critical home repair and modification for low-income, disabled, or disadvantaged homeowners.
  • Vector Industries
    $7,500 | Renovate the restroom at Vector.
  • Verona Community Food Pantry
    $8,000 | Two months worth of food for distribution to qualified individuals.

EDUCATION

  • Children's Art Network
    $6,000 | Nine traveling studio programs that combine art with the SOLs are provided at a lower cost for 6,000 students.
  • Special Olympics of Virginia, Area 5
    $5,000 | Send 70 athletes and coaches to compete in the state level Special Olympics.

ANIMAL WELFARE

  • Cat's Cradle
    $1,000 | A program to target low-income individuals with spay/neuter assistance.
  • The Wildlife Center
    $4,700 | Provide sponsorships for education programs in local public elementary schools.
